The Land
Russia is a very diverse mass of land. It has many moutains like mount Elbrus pictured below, but also has a vast variety of tundras and plains. Another part of Russia has the Central Siberian Plateau. Russia also has quite a few lakes and rivers, like the Volga river.

The highest point in Russia is Mount Elbrus, located in the Cacaus Mountains. It is 5,642 meters above sea level.

Climate & Vegetation
Most of Russia is in the high latitudes with a harsh climate that has very cold winters. Russia is also comprised of a tundra in the north which is a vast treeless plain. The largest climate reigon in Russia is subartic. The Russian part of the Northern European Plain, and a part of southern Siberia is comprised of a humid continental climate. Because of the cold climate the Russians were better prepared for wars on their land.

Population & Culture
Russia is home to a wide variety of ethnic groups. More than 100 languages are spoken here but Russian is the official language. 75% of Russians live in western Russia due to the rich soil and waterways. Students have a choice of diffrent types of schools, but the unstable economy has limited school bugets. Students forcus on money way more then getting a proper education. Health care is limited and of poor quality. The arts are mainly inspired by religion.

These are Russian nesting dolls, each doll fits another doll inside of it until you reach the smallest one. These dolls range from a very wide variety.

History & Government
Slav farmers, hunters, and fishers first settled in western Russia in the AD 600s. Kiev, the largest city-state, controlled a trading route to link the Baltic, and Black Seas. In the 1200s Mongols invaded Kiev which led to the slavs fleeing, and created slavic settlements which then created modern Moscow.
